Song Tree Artist: Jay Spectre

Hailing from Toronto ON, Jay Spectre has been moving across the land and taking audiences aback with their unique sound and message. The sound has been described as a melting pot of tonalities, melodies and rhythms, not limited to any one genre. “A style that swings from crackling funk, soul, and world rhythms, all overseen by a rock sensibility. Energizing and tight as a unit, bursting of global flavors and colors, an absolute treat for those who long for a musical canvas that includes dancing and having a good time.”

Sometimes the songs are deep and introspective, sometimes tongue in cheek, but always an honest expression from the artists that create the sound. It's a high-energy show that threatens to entice even the most jaded indie music lover into tapping their feet.

“Quickly becoming known for their enthusiastic encores” this is a band you don’t want to miss live."

Founding members James Oliver, Jon Hembrey and Jeremy Drury have been joined by Mike Field, Katherine Watson, Dean Yeats, Paul Turley, and Sean Segal to record their latest release “Too Little Too Much”. This full length follow up to “The End Of The World and Back” was co-produced and mixed by The Wooden Sky's Gavin Gardiner and features contributions from Ohbijou member Anissa Heart. It was mastered by Noah Mintz from Lacquer Channel. Simply put the album has, “…great lyrics, huge instrumental and the artwork kicks.”

Jay Spectre have shared the stage with acts as diverse as Bedouin Soundclash, Run With The Kittens, Two Hours Traffic, and Greg Macpherson and at every turn they are changing the way people see music from this country.
